In Science we were learning about hearing and cooling.
In one lesson we had friends hold objects in their hands to see if it would melt with our body heat. They held a crayon, marshmallow, and butter in their hand.
We predicted that the crayon and marshmallow would not melt with body heat and the butter would. We were correct on all three predictions!
Then we used a hold plate to melt them. We predicted that the crayon would not melt but the butter and marshmallow would. We were in correct, all three melted!
The kindergarten scientists decided to see what would happen to it if we let them sit off of the heat. The crayon hardened first, the other two did not harden before the end of the day.
We decided to also see what would happen when we took liquids and solids and added heat. What better way to do this than chocolate chip pancakes!!!!
We all took turns mixing our ingredients together.
Then we carefully sat back and watched them cook! The liquid pancakes turned into a solid when heated and the solid chocolate chips turned into a liquid. The best part of course was getting to eat the pancakes! Yum!
