Center Time!

We have been working super hard during centers!

We are practicing reading fluency in small groups. Look at the one to one correspondence!

Look at them practicing our handwriting and stretching out words.
ABC order is sometimes hard but it sure is a lot of fun when its about St. Patrick's day!
What would you want at the end of your rainbow? That is what we wrote about in the writing center.
We are so excited to have iPads in our classroom. We get to lay on the floor and work on Reading eggs during the iPad center.
Our stuffed animals sure love a good story!
Teamwork is always best during centers! As a team they sound out the CVC words and sort them by the middle sound. It's pretty tricky to break apart the sounds.
Writing the Room is always enjoyable especially when we can search under other charts. It's almost like a fort!

Valentines Party and Themed Week

We had a lot of fun at our Valentines Party thanks to our fabulous room parents!

We had an M&M race. We had to suck up the M&M with a straw and put them into the cup. It was hard work.

We created toilet paper spring puppets. We created butterflies, bees, and flowers!

We all passed our valentines out to our friends! There were a ton of creative valentine boxes!

We experiment with candy hearts. We put them in water, soda, and vinegar to see what would happen and how fast they would disintegrate. The hearts floated in the soda. They sank in water. They fizzed in the vinegar.

We each got a box of candy hearts and had to graph them by color. Then we were able to eat them.

I Like Money!

In Math we have been learning about our favorite, MONEY!!!

We each created works of art and put a price tag on them.

We walked around the classroom buying art work with our 10 cents we had available. Some students made money, some lost money, and others broke even. This was a fun discussion about how if you purchase something that is took expensive you can't save and how if you get something for a lower price you could make money!

We also walked around the classroom on the hunt for piggy banks. We worked together to add all the coins in each piggy bank! Money and addition work together!!
