Congrats to those who met their AR Goals!

I am so proud of all my of my students we have started our AR program on the right foot! Each week I read a book to the guided reading groups and we take an AR Test on the iPads. I also should be receiving an email once a week with 1 book that the child read at home. Each six weeks that is a total of 12 books that each student should be taking at AR Test on. Lets do the math!

1 book= .5 pts if each students reads 12 books each six weeks and receives a 100% on all books that student will receive how many AR points? 6 points

Each six weeks kindergarten has a goal of 3 points. With this being said, they have plenty of room to make mistakes and still reach their goal. The problem is this can only happen if parents are helping at home by emailing ONE book a week to take an AR test on!! Please do your part in helping your child succeed academically!

Congratulations to the following students who met their AR Goal for the 4th Six weeks.

Science Fair

We had a few students in class participate in the K-5 Science Fair. They did a wonderful job on their projects and an even better job presenting to the class. I was so proud of these students, it takes a lot of courage to get in front of the class and talk.

Esther did a great job explaining the Life Cycle of a Butterfly. I am sure she will be a pro when have butterflies in our classroom in a few months!
Mustafa taught us how tornadoes work and how to stay safe when a tornado comes!

Vashon did an experiment on which M&M would melt faster. His guess was orange and it his results stated the brown M&M's melt faster

If Mrs. Meck can do it in kindergarten so can you!

All of the kids were really excited to find out that even I made a 100 day shirt in kindergarten. They asked if they could see what it looked like so I brought it in today!

Here is my100 day shirt from when I was in kindergarten! ( They asked if I could wear it on the 100th day! I politely declined explaining that I have grown a few sizes in the past few decades!)
