We are super luck and received 30 iPads for Kindergarten through Second grade! We get 5 per classroom Monday through Thursday to use during centers and throughout the day. On Fridays we share them for whole class iPad time!
The students are learning to be responsible for a piece of equipment. They are able turn the iPad on and off on their own, as well as pick their own applications and start it up!
I am so proud of how techno savvy my class is!
Check them out in action!

The Holidays are Coming!
What better gift to give your child than the gift of reading!
Scholastic has a lot of books on your child's level for a very low cost. The best thing you can do for your child is surround them with books. I know that each child has their must have toy or video game that they are asking for but why not add a book or two to that list!
Please check out the Scholastic website, there is a tab on my blog with the direct link to our classroom scholastic page. If you order your books by December 7th I can guarantee their arrival before winter break!

It's going around again.....
The flu is going around again (at least in my household). I know its bad when my never sick husband gets sick. Although he says it was from the petri dish of the malls I drugBlack Friday that I drug him to. I still think we should take the necessary precautions in the classroom.
Here are some good rules of thumb to keep germs from spreading in the classroom.
Before sending your child to school make sure they are:
- 24 hour fever free
-24 hour vomit free
-24 hour diarrhea free
-has been on antibiotics for 24 hours
I will be sure that we are cleaning tables, supply boxes, doors, and cubbies twice a week. As well as promoting tissues, washing hands and "arm cough".
Hope everyone is having a healthy and warm couple of weeks before another holiday break!

-My mom because she cooks me dinnner
-McDonalds becaues my mom doesn't cook

While they sure did have some great ideas......I am thankful for a few things as well!
I am thankful for my students who make me laugh every single day with the things they come up with and their excitement for learning! I am so lucky to have every single one of them in my class and enjoy the smiles, laughs, tears, and frustration we all share together.
I am thankful for are all of my parents! I love how involved and concerned you all are about your student's education! I really see improvements from each student every day and thats thanks to your help! Without your continued work at home the improvements wouldn't be possible.

Who Will You Vote For Today?
This week in Social Studies we are learning about Elections. We made our registration cards yesterday and we will be voting on who we are going to elect after reading three books: My Teacher for President, Duck for President and Grace for President. We will be making campaign signs for who we are voting for and we will get to vote for our President. Thursday will be our big election with the results on Friday. Check back to see who our class votes for President!
Yesterday we did a mock election after watching a few short videos on Obama and Romney and this is how your children voted. How will you vote? Will our results be true to the election? We will soon find out!
