Friday Friendship Salad Day

 On Friday we discussed friendship in our class. We used the fruit as an example of ourselves and the bowl was an example of our classroom. I explained that there are many things we need in our classroom... especially good friends and happy days . Each student took a bag of fruit and placed it into the bowl to represent themselves and the great qualities they wanted to put into our classroom. After everyone placed their fruit in the bowl I asked them if they wanted me to put the rotten banana in the bowl and they all screamed. "NOOO!" We then had a discussion about the rotten banana and its comparison to a student that does not make good choices or is not a very nice friend. They all agreed they did not want to be the rotten banana of the class.

We then all enjoyed eathing our fruit salad and threw the banana away.

First Day of School!

Welcome to kindergarten. We have all successfully made it through our first day of kindergarten! Can you believe it your little baby is in school and they were just fine? (They even had a little fun!)

I hope you all are as excited as I am to start school. I can't wait to get to know each and every one of those little faces more. They have been a joy!

Please be aware that the traffic plan is new and we are testing out what plan will work best. Just be patient and we will get it running smoothly soon enough. If you would like to avoid the traffic pile up in the afternoon here are a few tips.....

1. Go ahead and pick your child up at 2:35  kindergarten and first grade will be out there!
2. Pull into the school on Old Denton (in between Papa Murphys and the Fitness Center) and stay in the right lane. That will be the quickest way to the back in the morning and afternoon.
